Unclaimed Funds

The Clerk of Courts Unclaimed Funds List is comprised of checks that were issued and were never cashed. The Clerk of Courts Unclaimed Funds listing on escheated (meaning transferred from the Clerk of Courts to the County Auditor) funds are located below.

Unclaimed Funds Lists are posted every year on the first Monday of January on the clerk’s bulletin board and on the second Monday at the entrance of the courthouse for 30 days. After those 30 days have expired, the pay-in to the County Auditor occurs in 30 days. By law the unclaimed monies remain accessible until the funds are transferred to the Guernsey County Auditor per Ohio Revised Code 2335.34.
